Finding The Best Rated Refrigerators

CLICK HERE FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE BEST RATED REFRIGERATORS

If you're in the market for a new fridge, whether it's to replace one that's not working properly or you're doing a complete kitchen reno, finding the best rated refrigerators isn't complicated.

It's just a matter of knowing where to look.

The first place I always recommend is Consumer Reports, either the magazine or the website. They review appliances on a regular basis, and you should be able to find a comparison of refrigerators in a fairly recent back issue.

Most libraries subscribe to the magazine, so that's a great place to do some research. Otherwise, the website always has lots of information available without having to dig through a stack of back issues.

They review various brands and models for things like reliability, performance, warranties, etc. and they just report the facts.

Another good source of information is websites that let people post reviews, such as Amazon.com. Online reviews are not always entirely accurate, and people who are unhappy are more likely to post than people who are satisfied, but if you spend some time reading through these reviews you should get a pretty good idea of how people's experiences have been.

Always looks for sites that have more than just a couple of review. The more that are posted, the more likely it is that there's going to be a good cross-section of people writing them.

Any brand is going to have the odd lemon, so one or two bad reviews isn't necessarily a bad thing.

What you want to look for in refrigerator ratings are things like reliability, how easy it is to get service when needed, the length of the warranty, how easy the company is to deal with for warranty service, etc.

A refrigerator should last you for years, so even if you spend several hours doing some research into the best rated models, it's worth the time.
